May 25, 2006 was a fantastic night for lightning show



2006-05-27 - Milltown Church RD, Columbia, Adair CO, KY - Photo Don Butler. This is one of the lightning pictures I made from last night's crazy storm. I came to Adair County from the supposed lightning capitol of the nation, Forida, but I never saw that much lightning packed into one storm before Thursday night, Friday morning, May 25, 26, 2006. This one is again from Milltown Church Road, at 1am. I wasn't able to venture out any further this time. - DAN BUTLER

Two arrested on drug charges following traffic stop

A traffic stop at 6:30pm, Friday, May 26, 2006, resulted in the arrests of an Adair County man and a Green County woman on drug charges.

Columbia Police Officer Brad Scholl arrested James "Hopsing" Miller, 49, Columbia, KY; and Lisa Neat, 39, Greensburg, KY inside the city limits.

Since the listing of Adair County Veterans was posted on Friday, several names have been added to the list of Adair County Veterans.

Patricia Goodwin sent information about her dad. "My father, J.C. Sexton served in the Army during World War II," she wrote.

Candice Compton Robertson sent two names. "Please add Clayton Howard Compton, Msgt, Air Force, World War II and Howard L. Robertson, Army, Vietnam War."

Sad start to holiday: Crash takes life of Liberty driver

Death is first Memorial Day Weekend highway fatality in Columbia KSP Post 15 area
A head-on collision on KY 1649 took the life of Patricia D. Patterson, 37, Liberty, KY, on Friday night, May 26, 2006, at 6:30pm. Eastern Time.

The driver of the other vehicle, Ryan L. Smith, 23, Somerset, KY, was airlifted to UK Medical Center, Lexington, KY.
