Results: Adair County 2006 Primary Election

The night's big winners: Republicans Ann Melton, Ralph Curry, Sheila Blair, William "Bug" Knight, Roger Stephens, Kelly Hamlett, Sammy Baker, Billy Dean Coffey, and Terry Hadley; Democrats Wid Harris, Tony Loy, Jeff Hatcher, and Rick Wilson. Michael Loy wins over half of Adair County's vote to win a run-off slot for 29th District Judge. (Note: Because of a reporting error, the results for the Second District Republican Magistrate race, in earlier reports, did not list Kelly Hamlett as the winner.)

Ann Melton is the first woman ever to be nominated for Adair County Judge Executive. She did so today with 53 per cent of the vote in the four-way Republican field, beating her nearest challenger and the only male in the race, Sammy Taylor, by an over 2-to-1 margin.
