Young Eagles flight rally at airport is scheduled for May 20, 2006

Area young people ages 8-17 will have a chance to take to the skies, with Experimental Aircraft at Columbia Airport this Saturday

Saturday, May 20, beginning at 9:00 AM!

Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) Chapter 657 (Vine Grove Chapter) graciously hosts the first Adair County Young Eagles Flight Rally at the Columbia Airport, weather permitting.

This activity is completely free of charge.

Head-on collision on KY 70 results in injury to one driver

An accident on KY 70 three miles miles west of Liberty on KY 70 resulted in the one driver being treated at the hospital in Liberty, KY.

The accident occurred at Sunday, May 14, 2006, at 6:16 p.m.

Dorothy L. Evans, 39, was traveling west on KY 70 in a 1998 Buick. Dawn Moore, 21, Georgetown, KY, was traveling east in a 1996 Chevrolet.

Columbia Police arrest Horse Cave Man in connection with stabbing at High School

No students involved in incidentClick here
Fred L. Ennis, Jr., 19, Horse Cave, KY, was arrested Sunday night, May 14, 2006 at 11:00 p.m. and was charged with assault 2nd degree.

The arrest was made in connection with a stabbing Friday, May 21, at Adair County High School.

Elise Grant, 83, Glens Fork, KY; member Beech Grove Baptist

Ms. Grant was retired from Oshkosh, B'Gosh in Columbia, KY
Elsie Grant, 83, Glens Fork, KY, passed away Sunday, May 14, 2006, at 11:30 p.m., at the Summit Manor Nursing Home in Columbia, KY, after an illness of several weeks duration.

The funeral service will be Tuesday, May 16, at 2:00 p.m., at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg ST, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Hershey Giles, Bro. Matt Cowan, and Bro. Jay Damron the officiating clergy. Interment will be in the Grant Morrison Cemetery in Glens Fork, KY. The family requests visitation after 4:00 p.m., Monday, May 15, 2006, at the funeral home.

Cane Valley Christian Church Relay for Life tops $4,000 goal

Goal is met but work is not done until County Rally

Congratulations to the Cane Valley Christian Church Relay for Life Team as their goal of $4,000 was reached at yesterday's fund raiser motorcycle ride, meal and auction.

This goal was obtained by a lot of hard work by the "Team."
