COLUMBIA, KY Japanese students in the Lindsey Wilson College International Student Club sold homemade Japanese curry rice in the Student Union Building Wednesday, April 12. The fundraiser raised $289 for to send the students to Mammoth Cave National Park.

Nine Lindsey Wilson Singers perform at Carnegie Hall

NEW YORK. Allysa Pruitt is one of nine Lindsey Wilson Singers who is beaming after an experience very few people have. The nine Lindsey Wilson students joined the elite rank of musicians to perform at New York Citys prestigious Carnegie Hall.

The group, which included students from six U.S. colleges and universities, performed John Rutters "Requiem" on April 4.

Horse trailer taken from Shady Acres recovered in Taylor CO

Listener to Public Radio gives tip leading to return of stolen property
The Adair and Taylor County Sheriffs Offices recovered the horse trailer stolen from a farm on KY 61 south of Columbia, KY. The trailer returned on Tuesday April 18, 2006.

The trailer had been stolen from Randy and Sandy Curry, of Shady Creek Acres on Friday, April 14, 2006.

WHVE's Larry ''Lar On The Air'' Smith receives prestigious AP award

The Associated Press Award for outstanding news reporting was presented to Larry Smith on April 11th at the Radisson Hotel in Lexington.

Larry is the News and Program Director for WHVE Radio "92.7 The Wave", which serves Adair and Russell Counties with an adult contemporary music format.

He was recognized for dedication to local news coverage, news writing, stayingon top of the news and professionalism in programing.

The Adair County Board of Education held a special called board meeting to honor students, groups, and teachers on Thursday, March 30, 2006.

The list of outstanding accomplishments is long. The schools will be presented on ColumbiaMagazine.com individually. Other schools will be presented, one at a time, shortly.

This list is for John Adair Intermediate School. The Principal at ACMS is Jane Branham. The school is located on the main campus of Adair County School District, General John Adair Drive, Columbia, KY.
