WHO'S NEW: Twins Adrean and Andrew born to Susan and Dr. Robert Kell

Susan Osborn Kell gave birth on January 10, 2006 to Adrean Susan Osborn Kell and Andrew Robert Osborn Kell. They are the first children of Susan, a former teacher at Lindsey Wilson, and Dr. Robert Kell, a member of the Westlake Healthcare Team in Columbia.

The healthy twins were born at T. J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow, each weighing around six pounds. Susan says specific details will have to come later when there is time to think. Right now they are developing their daily routines at home with the help of Dr. Kell's mother, Ann.

LETTER: Reader worried about the Bridge on 80

Says bridge has slipped a lot over the years; thinks gully washer rain could send it into the creek

Ed when the water receeds you need to take a close look at the bridge on 80. It is dangerous looking. If you look closely you will see that it appears that the bridge has slipped a lot over the years and has moved on the pilons. The concrete has degraded and though I have not looked under it, I have been told that it really looks dangerous under the bridge. I fear it may slip into the creek with one of these gully washer rains.

The flooding in Adair County on January 23, 2006, wasn't as bad as it was in nearby counties, some of whose school systems called off classes because of high water.

However, for Grover Gilpin, it did bring to mind a major goal he's had for the last 50 years or so. It's related to flooding.
