Farris family members work together to completely clean up cemetery Good news: "...Jeanette Bennett Page led the project as the Farris Family worked together to clean off, reset stones and install a steel fence and gate on the family Cemetery..." By Morris Shepherd I have bad news and good news. The bad news is that the White Cemetery on Rt. 704 hasn't gotten the attention it so badly needs. The good news is that the Farris Family Cemetery, located on the highest point of the William Lee Farris Sr. farm (this farm sets where Adair, Green and Taylor Counties converge), has been completly cleaned off, the stones reset and a steel fence and gate installed and painted. Dunkerson doesn't take the credit. He says, with his extraordinary mix of entrepreneurship and evangelism, that he owes it all to a higher power Photos accompany this story By Ed Waggener ed@epwbooks.com Hank Dunkerson is a man on a mission who has infused a whole new life into the Adair County oil field, with a December 13, 2005 strike on the Jimmy and Pat Holladay Bennett lease, south of the Louie B. Nunn Parkway at about the 44 Mile Marker. The event is still the talk of the area. From the get-go, the new promoter has followed a different path, starting with financing. It is the first in Adair County where the religious side of the ledger ruled. "The money came from ministers to get the wells drilled," Dunkerson said.
