Charles Murphy will be missed at Colonel William Casey Retiring CWC employee is a school favorite, from being a friend to all, to entertaining with his famous "Chicken Dance." He is also one of Adair County's best-read individuals. Photo with this story By Patty Jones, Principal Charles Murphy retired as custodian of Col. Wm. Casey Elementary School as of Friday, December 16, 2005. Charles had been a familiar face at Casey for the past seventeen years. He actually started out about 20 years ago as a substitute custodian before being hired for the full-time position. For the past several years Charles was the first person to arrive each morning at Casey to make sure everything was ready to go for each school day. He unlocked the gates and doors, checked on the heat (or air), and made sure everything was in operating order before students and staff began arriving.
