Adair County School 5.9-cent tax what happened?
Knifley, Casey Creek activist takes schools, media to task.

According to Mr. Mike Harris, Adair County School Board Chairman, the kids of Adair County are the true losers.

You know he is right. The kids of Adair County Schools are the losers. They are the losers because the Adair County School Board failed to lead this county's school system in a progress matter.

Jewell Burton, 77, member Bloomington Chapel Brethren in Christ

Mrs. Burton leaves a large family including 54 descendants.
She had retired after a 20 year career at Fruit of the Loom.

Jewell E. Burton, 77, 4259 Liberty Road, Columbia, KY, passed away Sunday, December 11, 2005 a.m., at her home, after an illness.

The funeral service will be Tuesday, December 13, 2005, at 1:00 p.m., at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with Bro. Ralph Foster officiating. Interment will be in Bearwallow Cemetery.

Latest primary contest comes with filing of Dale Smith for County Court Clerk. Mr. Smith filed Thursday. So far, no Democrat has primary opposition; complete list of candidates and survey linked to this story

When Dale Smith filed Thursday of this week for the Republican nomination for Adair County Court Clerk in the May 16, 2006, primary election, the seventh primary contest was established, all on the Republican side of the ledger.

Mr. Smith will face Deputy Adair County Court Clerk Sheila Blair.

Driver airlifted after pickup leaves roadway, strikes fence and car

A one-car injury accident at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, December 10, 2005 (1430 hrs) resulted in the driver of a 1982 being airlifted to UK Medical Center in Lexington, KY.

Donnie Williams, 59, Lebanon, KY, was travelling northbound on St. Rose Road, 3.5 miles north of Lebanon, Marion CO, KY, when the accident occurred.

LETTER: Kenneth Edward Aaron on voting, cable coverage of public meetings

One of the complaints about me, by some elected officials, has been my interest in anything that happens in County, State or National levels. A common expression is that when you delegate authority you lose freedom.Appointing or electing someone to a position without monitoring their actions is a recipe for failure and corruption and the development of an idea that whatever they decide is right. In law enforcement this is called the Wyatt Erupe syndrome. What ever is said is the law.
