Make sure your pets have a warm place to sleep. If you cannot bring your dogs inside, give them a warm bed in the garage or if that is not possible, give them a warm dog house faced away from the wind with blankets or straw inside for them to snuggle down in. Storm passed us over, school is in session, life is back to normal By Linda Waggener linda@columbiamagazine.com Did you enjoy all that anticipation yesterday? Did you slide on the thin layer of ice that fell early in the day and then pay serious attention to the storm warnings? Did you stock up on groceries or buy some snow tires in preparation? Did you get out the sleds? That would have been good practice but not necessary. Our first big snow storm, predicted to be an inch or two for Adair County, went north of us. We got lots of rain and wind and a little ice, but not enough to slow things down this morning. Elkins, a 5-foot-6 guard from Greensburg, Kentucky, averaged 19.8 points, 6.5 rebounds and five assists per game during her junior season in 2004-05. Elkins was named to the All 18th District regular season and tournament teams and to the 5th Region All A Tournament team.
