Accident this morning on East 80 results in multiple injuries to driver

A single-vehicle accident two miles east of Columbia, KY on KY 80 resulted in multiple injuries to the driver, Betsy Dudgeon, 42, Campbellsville, KY. The accident occurred at 10:52 a.m.., this morning, Wednesday, November 23, 2005.

She was treated at Westlake Regional Hospital in Columbia, KY, before being transferred to the University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, KY

Gradyville gets new polling place

Wiring, ramp for wheelchairs, is underway; building will get first use in less than two weeks
The little Voting House was delivered to Gradyville, KY, on Tuesday, November 23, 2006, and will be ready for the Nickel Tax Special Election on December 6, 2005.

The new polling place is located just a few feet east of Gradyville's main general store, D&F Grocery.

Kentucky's unemployments rises to 6% for October 2005

State's rate of unemployment is above U.S. average 5%; above year-ago October state rate of 4.8%

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Nov. 23, 2005) - Kentucky's seasonally adjusted unemploymentrate increased to a preliminary 6 percent in October 2005 from the September2005 rate of 5.7 percent, according to the Office of Employment andTraining, an agency of the Education Cabinet. October's rate was aboveOctober 2004's rate of 4.8 percent.

Election 2006: Two more Democrats have filed

Two more candidates have filed in the office of Adair County Court Clerk Ann Melton as of 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 23, 2005.

Both are Democrats, bringing the total number of Democrats who have filed to six. Twenty have filed under the Republican banner.

Columbia Christian Living Christmas Tree programs Dec 7, 9, 11, 2005

The Columbia Christian Church will present their 2nd Annual Living Christmas Tree program. Performances are December 7, 9, and 11 at 7:00 pm.

Especially for Thanksgiving: State Police offer 15 Life-Saving Driving Tips

FRANKFORT. The approaching Thanksgiving holiday means increased traffic on roads and highways throughout Kentucky. As a result, the Kentucky State police will be enhancing its road patrols and operating safety checkpoints statewide beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 23, 2005, and ending at 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, November 27, 2005.

LETTER to the EDITOR: Band's performances were awesome

This is the first year I attended the Bands of America Grand Nationals.There were 92 bands competing. Our band's performances were awesome, and Iam so proud of them.

They are a fine group of students with an excellentdirector.

Color of smoke and temperature of engine determines diagnoses; bio-diesel can save money, but there are special problems to overcome

With the escalating cost of fuel, producers must look for ways to reduce their usage. One good place to start is eliminating unnecessary trips across the field. No-till production, already popular in Kentucky, may become even more popular as farmers look to economize.
