Driver receives treatment for multiple injuries following Wednesday crash

Operator loses control, runs off roadway, overturns
Jamie S. Bell, 23, Raywick, Marion CO, KY, was admitted to Springview Hospital in Lebanon, KY, for treatment for multiple injuries, following an accident 1.7 miles south of Raywick on KY 527.

The accident occurred at 4:30 p.m., Wednesday, October 26, 2005.

Walk-in flu clinic to be held Friday, November 4, 2005

Adair County Health Department aims to vaccinate high-risk individuals
A walk-in flu shot clinic will be held on Friday, November 4, 2005 at the Adair County Health Department. at 801 Westlake Drive, Columbia, KY.

Clinic hours will be 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with no appointment necessary on this day.

Sheriff will mail tax bills October 31, 2005

Discounts for November 2005 payments; regular rates in December 2005; penalites imposed for 2005 payments in 2006.
The 2005 Property Tax Bills will be mailed October 31, 2005, according to the office of Adair County Sheriff Steve Cheatham.The sheriff says that if you do not receive your tax bill by early next week - the week of Monday October 31, 2005 - you should contact the Sheriff's Office.

One week after Kentucky Highway Commissioner Marc Williams was shown the need for a caution light at the intersection of KY 206 and Green Hills Road intersection, the light was installed.

School Tax Recall election will be December 6, 2006

County court clerk announces date; wording still in negotiation; new voting house or location for Gradyville
Adair County Court Clerk Ann Melton has announced that the Special Tax Recall election will be held on Tuesday, December 6, 2005.

She received a call from Superintendent Darrell Treece's office this morning stating that the school board would not state a preference for a date. Mrs. Melton had stated a preference for the earlier date.

Improvement in health habits is a growing trend in Adair County

91.5 pounds have been lost in four weeks by health-conscious individuals meeting Monday nights at the extension office; four more weeks to go in this series
Adair County ranks worst, that's #1 in Kentucky, in our number of strokes; diet and exercise said to be key in changing this statistic
The Adair County Health Department and the Extension Office have joined forces, putting each of their agency mandates together, offering training in both fitness and weight loss in one meeting. They are part of the Governor's and the University of Kentucky's efforts to educate the public and offer assistance to help positively change statistics in our state which ranks near the bottom in health and fitness.

The public is invited to participate in "Dialogue on Kentucky's Political Parties" on Tuesday, November 1, 2005at the C.U. Kentucky Heartland Institute on Public Policy in Campbellsville.
