Jimmy Rogers, 57, member of Hill-N-Valley Saddle Club Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, Ocober 23, 2005 at 1 p.m. at Grissom Funeral Home for Jimmy Rogers, 57, who died Thursday at his home after an illness. He was the son of the late J. C. Rogers and is survived by his mother Pauline Hamlett Rogers, and by his wife Reba Burris Rogers of Columbia. BULLETIN: Board votes 3-2 to hold election on tax Vote to put issue to vote comes after earlier motion to rescind fails by similar margin. Superintendent reports that Recall Petition needs only 64 more names validated to force an election A report on other items from the meeting will be posted later By Ed Waggener ed@columbiamagazine.com The Adair County Board of Education will put the question of the Nickel Tax to a vote. The decision came in a 3-2 vote at the Thursday, October 20, 2005, regular monthly meeting. The vote to let the people of the county decide in a special election, if one is forced by the Tax Recall Petition, was subsequent to a failed motion to rescind the tax for now. Russell Springs man faces charges following single vehicle crash Driver, passenger left scene of accident; passenger flown to UK Medical Center; Trooper Jeremy Johnson investigates incident James Wright, 36, Russell Springs, KY, faces charges growing out of an accident which occurred 14 miles east of Russell Springs on KY 1611, Thursday, October 20, 2005, at 4:15 a.m. He has been lodged in the Rusell County Jail.
