What's your opinion about the skateboard ban in Downtown Columbia

One comment we've received fully supports the ban. One skateboarding kid hints that the ban is classist. Two other comments agree with the skateboard kid. Readers are asked to add their comments on the subject.

Five lots to be annexed: P&Z Zone hearing



2005-09-14 - Columbia, KY - Photo Staff. Five Lots on Campbellsville ST - The City of Columbia Planning and Zoning Commission will hold a hearing in City Hall on Thursday, September 22, 2005, at 6:00 p.m., to consider a zone change for five lots located on Highway 55 North. The lots are to be annexed into the City Limits. The Zone is to be C-2 Highway Commercial. The five lots start on the west side of the road, left in the photo. They begin with the vacant lot, and include Day's Feed Mill (2 lots), Tommy Grider's former Highway Garage Building property, and the Old Ambulance Building. The latter is now being renovated for the Adair County Regional Jail to be a Minimum Security Facility.

Kentucky State Police arrest man on Christine Road for trafficking

Prior convictions enhance charges to 2nd offense status
Following a lengthy investigation into drug trafficking in Adair County, Kentucky State Police Detective Scott Hammond arrested a local man on drug charges.

Drivers treated, released at Westlake after two-car accident at noon today

Accident occurs four miles east of Columbia on KY 80
Both drivers of vehicles involved in an accident today four miles east of Columbia, KY, on KY 80, were treated and released at Westlake Regional Hospital.

The accident occurred at 12:08 p.m., noon, Wednesday, September 14, 2005.

James Upchurch, 68

Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 15, 2005 at 1 p.m. at Grissom Funeral Home for James Upchurch who passed away Tuesday. He was a son of the late Charlie and Olivia Brewington Upchurch, a member of Sparksville Baptist Church and a former truck driver.
