Two-year-old Lebanon boy drowns in family pool

The Kentucky State Police are investigating the death of a two-year-old who drowned in the family pool.

At around 7:30 p.m., July 18, 2005, Michael Patrick Randall Morgeson was found unconscious in the family pool and transported to Springview Hospital in Lebanon.

Steve McKinney celebrating 36 years in business

Steve McKinney celebrates 36 years as Adair County's NAPA dealer

The blue and gold building on Campbellsville Street houses one of three NAPA dealerships (in Adair, Russell and Taylor Counties) that are owned and run by Steve McKinney and his family

Steve McKinney celebrated 36 years as the Adair County NAPA dealer in June. He started out in a different industry, getting his license as a mortician working with Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home. Then his brother-in-law Sam Holmes who owned the Jeffersonville, Indiana NAPA dealership, advised him that an Adair County NAPA store would be a great opportunity. Steve listened to the advice, looked into it, and the rest is history.

Judge Vaughan returns with $5,000 more than expected from PRIDE

Adair County grant raised to $55,000

Columbia receives $25,000, as expected
A.L. Sinclair, Columbia, KY, Executive Committee Secretary of PRIDE, and a board member, reported that Adair County received $5,000 more than had been originally expected at the PRIDE board meeting at the Center for Rural Development in Somerset on Wednesday, July 13, 2005.

Secretary Sinclair motored to the meeting with Adair County Judge Executive Jerry Vaughan, where Judge Vaughan accepted a check for $55,000 on behalf of the Adair County Fiscal Court

Adair District Court Jury awards Chris Cowan record $6.2 million

Prominent Milltown Church Road farmer Chris Cowan was awarded a total $6.2 million for injuries he sustained in a mower accident three years ago.

The settlement was the largest personal injury award, by far, in Adair County Court history.

Adair students' first day is Thursday, August 4, 2005

Student enrollment in Adair County Schools is set for Thursday, August 4, 2005. Kindergarten students will enroll one day later, Friday, August 5, 2005.

Opening day for Faculty/Staff in Adair County Schools will be Wednesday, August 3, 2005.
