Colonel Frank Lane Wolford is considered by many to be theoutstanding Kentuckian in the Civil War because of his bravery,leadership, devotion to his men of the 1st Kentucky Cavalry, and hisstaunch stand for the principles he believed in.

Escapee from Adair County Regional Jail quickly apprehended

  • Detective Ricky Underwood and K-9 dog "Til" capture fugitive in field in Hudson Street area
  • Six KSP units, Columbia Police Department, take part in action

An inmate from the Adair County Regional Jail had only a brief period of freedom after his escape was reported to the Kentucky State Police at about 9:00 p.m., last night, Sunday, July 3.

Officials report high activity over pre-holiday week and weekend

State and Local Officials have been called out for incidents resulting in deaths, hospitalizations and investigations
  • Miss Taylor County Fair dead after drunk driving accident
  • Monroe county shooting under investigation
  • Harley rider flown to UL hospital after accident near Loretto
  • Two hospitalized after accident near Clementsville
  • Driver killed in one-car auto accident near Raywick
  • Cyclist hospitalized following accident in East 80

  • Miss Taylor County Fair, Brittany Shoap, died in a car accident just two days after winning the title. A Somerset College Student, Miss Shoap would have gone on to represent Taylor County in the Miss Kentucky County Fair pageant in January.
