Reception reported to be good on TV set in Adair County

The Adair County News, January 5, 1949
Columbia's first television set was installed last week by GaspardBrockman, manager of Columbia General Appliance Store, in his home onFrazer Ave.

Reception on the set, a $329 table model with a ten-inch screen, isreported to be excellent when atmospheric conditions are favorable.However, interference from power lines sometimes prevents perfect reception.

Orville Earl Ellis, 84, 2457 Russell Springs RD, Columbia, KY, passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2005, at 3:05 a.m., at Westlake Regional Hospital, Columbia, KY.

The funeral service will be Thursday, April 28, 2005, at 3:30 p.m., at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg ST, Columbia, KY, with Bro. John Rielly and Nathan Hale officiating.

George A. Hale, 84, a resident of Summit Manor Nursing Home, Columbia, KY, died Tuesday, Apriil 26, 2005, at the Westlake Regiional Hospital, Columbia, KY.

The funeral service will be Thursday, April 28, 2005, at 11:00 a.m., at Grissom Funeral Home 200 Campbellsville ST, Columbia, KY, with Rev. Elbert Hadley officiating.

Using good pasture management practices will help eliminate weeds and unwanted plants in grass pastures and hayfields. Weedy type plants reduce quality, and sometimes quantity, of desirable forages available to livestock. Some plants are even potentially poisonous to grazing animals.
