Col. William Casey's winning class with their winning teacher

Principal Patty Jones proudly reports that Col. William Casey Elementary has enjoyed double honors -- Pat Coomer is the new Kentucky Technology Teacher of the Year, and the Student Technology Leadership Program, has also received a state level award.

2005-03-15 - Columbia, KY - Photo courtesy of CWC. MEET THE ENTREPRENEURIAL PROGRAM OF THE YEAR WINNERS, the Col. William Casey Elementary Student Technology Leadership Program (STLP). The team was selected as one of the top eight groups in this region to compete at state level. The state showcase was held at the Kentucky Teaching and Learning Conference in Louisville where they took top honors. The winning team includes Lydia Sidebottom, Ashtin Hancock, Chloe Cheng, Rachel Phipps, Kyle Castaneda, Tristan Campbell, Cassie Wilson, Emily Peck, Sydney Bright, Natalie Bryant, Amanda McGeorge, Matt Rogers, Marshall Shelley, Ty Bennett, Michiah Baxter, Francisco Mendoza, Ethan Brown and Kyle Burton. Their award winning teacher, Pat Coomer, is the new Kentucky Technology Teacher of the Year.

Adair County Judge Jerry Vaughan and Columbia Mayor Pat Bell joined Rep. Russ Mobley at the open forum held at 10:00 a.m. today, at the Adair County Courthouse Annex community room.

Representative Moberly itemized the projects in the new State Budget which will affect Adair County, noted that the total state allocations for Adair County are the highest in the county's history. "It's the best budget we've ever had," he said.

State Budget 2004-2006: Water projects in; Green River Resort isn't


  • Adair County gets $1,500,000 for water treatment plant
  • Columbia gets $400,000 grant for water and sewer
  • State wants Green River Lodge and Golf Course to be privately built

"We have one of the richest resources in the state of Kentucky in Green River Lake," 51st District Kentucky (Adair, Taylor) Representative Russ Mobley (R. Campbellsville) says. "When the rest of the world is having water problems, we won't."

Rep. Russ Mobley will be in the Annex Basement, Tuesday, March 15, 10:00 A.M, CST, to discuss items that were included in the 2004-2006 State Budget for Adair County. Everyone is invited.
