Russell shooting victim in stable condition

Mario Sanchez Gomez, 21, Russell County, is in stable condition at the University of Kentucky Medical Center following a shooting incident which occurred 5 miles south of Russell Springs on Flanagan Road in Russell County on Sunday, August 17, 2003.

Farmers' Market



2003-08-19 - Columbia, KY - Photo Ed Waggener. Farmers' Market at the Extension Office on Fairgound Street was a busy place this morning. Regular farmer/vendors Shirley England, Bull Run Road, left, and Esther Brock, Milltown, said that business has been good. The market is open on Tuesdays and Fridays until October. Some vendors arrive as early as 4:00 a.m. on sell days, and early buyers get the best pick. Mrs. England had sold out of canteloupe and was left with an assortment which included tomatoes, beans, and cucumbers; Mrs. Brock had a nice supply of tomatoes, potatoes, and green beans, but had sold out of sweet corn very early.

Four treated at hospital in Russell accident

Four persons were treated following a two-vehicle accident which occurred at 2:30 p.m., August 16, 2003, four miles east of Russell Springs at the intersection of KY 80 and KY 76.

Casey driver treated and released

One driver was uninjured, and the other was treated and released from the Casey County Hospital following a two-car accident which occurred at 2:15 p.m., August 15, 2003, two miles east of Liberty on Kentucky 70

Board of Education Agenda for 08/21/03 Regular Meeting

The Adair County Board of Education has released its 23 point agenda for the regular meeting to be held Thursday, August 21, 2003.

The meeting will start at 7:00 p.m., in the Adair County Board Conference Room and is, of course, open to the public.
