Gradyville Flood anniversary Personal accounts of the tragic flood of 1907 describe a normal, hot June day in the little town of Gradyville where ordinary folks just like us did their work on a Friday and breathed a sigh of relief as they finished up and headed in for an evening of rest. Then the words share the alarm and the grief caused by a late night eight-to-nine-foot wall of water, visible only because of nonstop lightning, picking up mature trees and huge rocks, rolling over anyone and anything in its path of destruction, claiming 20 lives. Meece convicted of separate murder-for-hire The Lexington-Herald is reporting that William Harry Meece has been convicted of conspiracy to commit murder in a separate murder-for-hire case in Lexington, with a recommended sentece of 12 years in prision.
