PSC allows Cincinnati Bell to reduce white pages directories

Internet usage reduces need for printed copies of white pages, which may now go only to customers by request only

The Kentucky Public Service Commission (PSC) has found that a plan by Cincinnati Bell Telephone Co. to distribute printed White Pages directories only to those customers who make a specific request for the directories complies with state law.

Adair schools website fully functional today

The Adair County School's District wide website, http://www.adair.k12.ky.us. is fully functional this morning, after an overnight outage from Sunday evening October 21, 2007 to Monday morning, October 21, 2007.

Carla Perkins, technology director for the system, brought the system back online from data back-ups in an impressively short time.

A group working to make internet more accessible and to increase internet usage in Adair County has released a comprehensive plan to encourage and assist local citizens cope with learning the new medium and to help overcome problems they might encounter.

Connect Adair County, a group of local volunteers, recently completed a road map for technology-based growth and development during a months-long meeting process.

As many have learned, continued calling to the company occasionally gets results. But not for Swanner. So he investigated other avenues.

Hello,

I've been a resident of Adair County for the past 3.5 years near the Coburg area, closer to the lake. I live in an area that isn't serviced by cable or dsl (broadband) internet.

I have been checking out different satellite Internet Service Providers, and Wildblue seems to be the lowest priced/rural directed service available. Wildblue (www.wildblue.com) was drafted into KY in part by Gov. Fletcher's plank of having KY 100% broadband capable.
