Metcalfe teachers honored by CU Excellence program

2023-07-18 - Taylor County, KY - Photo by Alexandria D. Dalton, CU Communications. Teachers from Metcalfe County honored by the CU Excellence in Teaching program are: Nikki Jolly, Metcalfe County Elementary School; Lesley Landon, Metcalfe County Middle School; and Tonya Howard, Metcalfe County High School.
Nikki Jolly of Center, Ky. has taught special education (third and fourth grades) at Metcalfe County Elementary School since Sept. 2011. She received a Master of Art in Education from Western Kentucky University in 2012. Jolly also received a Master of Arts in Teaching from University of the Cumberlands in 2016 and a master's in business administration from Western Kentucky University in 2002. She is married to Richie Jolly, and they have three children: Dathan, Mayci and Aubree Jolly. She is a 1997 graduate of Barren County High School.
Lesley Landon of Center, KY, has taught special education, 4-H and service learning teacher at Metcalfe County Middle School since 2014. He previously taught special education at Edmonton Elementary School from 2004 to 2011 and special education at Metcalfe Intermediate Sixth Grade Center from 2011 to 2014. He received a degree in business from Transylvania University in 1996 and also received a degree in K-12 learning disabilities from Western Kentucky University in 2002. Landon is married to Johnny London, and they have two children: Tyler and Kassady. He is a 1992 graduate of Metcalfe County High School.
Tonya Howard of Columbia, Ky. has taught FACS teacher (grades 9-12) at Metcalfe County High School since 2019. She previously taught special education (6-12) at Russell County High School from 2014 to 2019. She received a degree in elementary education from Western Kentucky University in 2007. Howard also received a special education LBD from Campbellsville University in 2012 and a family and consumer science certificate from Murray State University. She is married to Adam Howard, and they have two children: Kaitlynn and Elijah. She is a 2002 graduate of Adair County High School.
