Rodney and Donna White at Adair Heritage meeting

2018-12-22 - Adair Public Library - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com.
Retired teachers Rodney and Donna Banks White, at left, have moved home to Adair County and are getting involved in projects like this one for the Adair Heritage Association. They brought news of the Rosenwald schools, particularly the one beside the Santa Fee Church in Sparksville. They invited Adair County Middle School teacher Sammy Hughes, at right, who they'd met with back in the summer and were impressed with his vast collection of history around that school and the families who were part of it. The three shared preservation needs and the Heritage group voted to adopt the school as a project for assistance toward renovation. Also in the photo are Ted Caldwell, secretary, and Ellen Zornes, president of the Adair Heritage Association.
