There were prayers and a sense of relief that everything was being done which should be done for the injuried driver in one of the vehicles involved in the second midday crash at the intersection of the Columbia Veterans Bypass at Burkesville Street/Burkesville Road. Local officials and citizens, studying the situation are insisting on immediate action, and, already, local leaders, law enforcement and first responders are finding commonality in times of day, the direction of travel of vehicles going through the intersection, and are suggesting solutions, "Whatever it takes," they say. - EW
