Second crash in less than 5 days at Bypass & Burkesville Street

For the second time in less than five days, a serious wreck has happened at the intersection of the Veterans Memorial Bypass and Burkesville Street/Road in Columbia. First reports indicate that it is a two-vehicle accident with extraction required from one vehicle. The accident occurred at around 1pmCT, today, Tuesday, September 4, according to Columbia Police Chief Jason Cross. The collision caused outrage among accident weary first responders and Adair County Judge Executive Mike Stephens, who was one of the earliest on the scene. Details are sketchy, more will be added as reports come in.
