Natural Bridge, Adair County, KY

Sometimes nature takes millions of years to build a natural bridge, as with the creation of the rockhouse just a few miles south of this natural bridge, created in a few seconds very recently, in the Third Magisterial District of Adair County, KY. This one hasn't been tested for maximum weight allowed - we know it would hold up a horde of squirrels - but inquiries to people who remember such things led to the discovery that natural foot bridges or 'walk bridges' were once - maybe still are - used in parts of the county. Some, we're told, were enhanced with people-built landings and guard rails. Some even had names. - EW
