Burkesville Street Phase - Bore Pit at Burkesville & Taylor Streets

2018-04-09 - Burkesville Street at Taylor Street, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener.

The Burkesville Street Phase of the Downtown Project with Kentucky's Dream Team of Contractor & Engineers, Stotts Construction, Inc. and David Bowles/Monarch Engineering is already to Taylor Street laying pipe, and is now within easy site of the contract's original goal, to and out Lancaster Street. Above, the Bore Pit for a directional bore under Burkesville Street is in place for work expected to start Monday morning. So far, CAUD General Manager reported at the Thursday, April 5, 2018 special meeting of the utility's Board of Commissioners, the work has gone extremely well, despite bad winter weather and a run of rock the utility hand not anticipated. The work, a show of the value of what experience, competence, familiarity with the terrain, and integrity can accomplish, has been done with minimum interference with traffic patterns, and public safety, that many can't appreciate what the local firm and the long time engineering association has done. - ED WAGGENER
