The Columbia City Council meeting Monday, April 2, 2018, had reduced attendance with many in the community out-of-town for Spring Break vacations. Above, Mayor Curtis Hardwick presides, center. From Left, clockwise, are Councilors, Dr. Ronald Rogers, and, hidden from view, Pam Hoots, then City Clerk Rhonda Loy, (Hardwick) Councilors Craig Dean, Linda Waggener, and Craig Lasley. There were a number of deliberations and votes, including rezoning measures related to the Adair County Public Library, Sidewalk Improvements, a Workforce Development measure, aid to the Columbia/Adair County Airport, and a strengthen partnership with the Roadside Park on Hwy 55 South Road. The Council heard a proposal from Councilor Linda Waggener to study the facilitation of a business incubation. - EW
