Scenic Adair Co., KY - Flowers for Easter at USPS 42728

2018-03-31 - At the United States Post Office, 42728 - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com.
It's worth a trip to Columbia's United States Post Office on Easter Sunday just to see these newly opened flowers, whether one has a letter to drop in the mail or not. This photo was taken on Saturday, March 31, 2018 - and there wasn't time to ID it before sharing. They mean so much for the Easter season. By the way, for those of us who make a daily visit to pick up the mail, it's been great to see the increase in activity at the local office, now benefitting from an "Amazon" boom. And, we hope, from an increase in the use of "real mail." (After all, Columbia remains a major printing center.) For many of us, whether there's one handwritten letter in the our box, or it's packed with newspapers, bills, magazines, or there's nothing at all, whatever time we choose to visit it's always great to rekindle friendships, and it's a comforting social activity that keeps our world in place, in order. The flowers today were just a bonus and an Easter reminder. - EW
