Agent with secret pouch waits at footbridge with friends

2017-10-23 - Creekside Barn, 1181 Gradyville Country Club Road, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com.
Joe Lynn Barbee, Bob Clutterbuck, and official ACHS Class of 1962 photographer Erin Brockman waited at the footbridge at Creekside Barn for new arrivals at the event. Barbee was waiting for one expected guest, Dr. Pam Stephens, who had given a conditional commitment that she would be present to award a 55 year late Adair County High School Diploma to Kenny Davis. The drama continued until after the celebrants were seating in the dining hall at Creekside, and Class President Charles Gore had started his brief announcements, but Dr. Stephens joined the group in time for all to go as she and Barbee had hoped. He introduced her, Dr. Stephens carried out the presentation with the aplomb of a formal commencement. Had she not been there, Barbee was to have made the presentation, which was the reason for the secret pouch. - EW
