When free tipping opens at 7amCT, Sat - lines should move faster

2017-05-19 .
The queue was over 30 vehicles long when this photo was taken. The lines moved slowly because of a cumbersome weighing system which shouldn't occur Saturday morning thanks to Magistrate Daryl Flatt, Transfer Station Manager Doug Hensley, and Vicky Pike putting their heads together and finding a streamlined system expected to speed offloading to twice the speed.. At one point Friday, a heavily loaded dump truck's power failed, the vehicle had to be offloaded by hand and the lines backed up.

When Vicky Pike, a member of the Adair County Solid Waste Advisory Committee, arrived at noon to inspect free tipping opening day, she found the line moving slowly; during the afternoon the situation worsened. But when she and Adair County Magistrate Daryl Flatt and transfer station overseer Doug Hensley put their heads together, they found a way to streamline the off loading, starting at 7amCT tomorrow, which should allow Adair Countians to move through at the line at twice the speed.
Second and Last Day of Free tipping for Adair County Residents, 07amCT-12pmNoonCT, Sat 20 May 2017. at the Mid-State Waste Transfer Station, 877 L. Willis Road, Columbia, KY. - BRIDGET COMPTON. STORY/DETAILS
