Adair County Primary School Transportation Information 2016/2017

2016-08-04 - Columbia, KY - Photo Courtesy Adair County Schools.
  • Parking is extremely limited at ACPC. The most efficient method of transportation for your children is the use of our bus system. However, if you wish to pick up your child we encourage you to apply for a car rider tag.

  • If your child will be a car rider every day, please complete a Car Rider Form and return it to your child's teacher. Each day students who are on the car rider list will be called up and may be loaded into your car beginning at 2:45. If you prefer to come a bit later to not have to wait in a long line that is fine. By 3:00 the line is usually down to just a few cars. You must have a 2016-2017 car tag to pick up your child in the line.

  • Please follow the traffic pattern that is included in the student handbook. In the mornings and afternoons we ask that you enter ACPC via the bypass if at all possible. In the afternoon all cars should also exit via the bypass. This is to prevent traffic congestion.

  • We ask that no transportation changes be made after 2pmCT each day. If you wish to change your child's transportation method for the day please either send a note with your child to the teacher, or call the school before 2pmCT to make the changes. We ask that if you need to make transportation changes for your child that you always send a note to the teacher with the following information: Date, Bus number, Drop off address, Name of who will receive the child, Contact phone number.

  • If you plan to just pick up your child occasionally you will need to park in the parking lot and come in the library to sign out your child. This is new this year! You will enter through the library exterior door at the far side of the library. You will then wait in the library until your child enters and then exit out the library exterior door with your child. Please remember that persons must be 16 years of age and listed on the emergency card in order to sign out your child.

  • As always, we appreciate your cooperation and patience as we begin the year. Please share your suggestions with us for improvement. It was through parent suggestion and input that we began our car tag system and we feel it has made a big improvement in our afternoon school pickup. We are better when we work together. --Patty Jones, Principal
