Attorney for Duo-County Telecom H.K. Cooper, Russell Springs, KY, acknowledged Duo-County CEO Tom Preston, seated in the gallery, at last night's August 3, 2015, regular city council meeting. Harris; City Clerk Rhonda Loy, Mayor Curtis Hardwick, City Attorney Marshall Loy, and Council members Craig Dean, Linda Waggener, and Craig Lasley. The empty chair, left, belongs to Council Member Ron Rogers, who, Mayor Hardwick said, was absent for the first time ever in many terms on the legislative body. Also, the clock on the wall, left, may have passed the last mile of the way. It was unresponsive last night. Mayor Hardwick assured the worried council that he would handle that situation. - EW
