After a lively political showdown at the Wednesday April 22, 2015 Adair County Board of Elections meeting, Hunter Durham and Larry Smith staged this show of friendship at the latest meeting of the Adair County Board of Elections, yesterday afternoon. While ColumbiaMagazine.com was not present at the famous first debate, we have learned that one of the gentlemen is a staunch Eisenhower Republican, the other a known Democrat. The latter hammered away at his rival, demanding to know what part of peace and prosperity he didn't like, and what part of the record stock market he was against. The other shot back that he liked Happy Chandler and was open minded, though he did question where Franklin Delano Roosevelt stood in relationship to God. Or so they told me. (One of the impartial observers, CJE Mike Stephens, vouched for some of this imformation.) It was Smith's first actual visit to Hunterland.
