Officer Kevin Atwood, Adair County School resource officer, filled in for Supt. Alan Reed on my Friday morning, Superintendent Minute on 92.7 The Wave. Atwood talked about school security and the importance of having police presence on school grounds, both as a deterrent to those who might do harm, and about the value of letting students know that policemen are their friends. He said that one of the biggest contributions he me can make is to talk with students person to person or in small informal groups. - Larry Smith
