Broom Sedge Babies

Broom sedge, all brown and regal,
Standing against Winter sky of blue.
Babies borne on angel hair wings
Drift on breezes gentle to
Distant nurseries of clay.

Broom sedge, all brown and regal,
Standing tall above whistling quail.
Warming in a sunlit bath;
Where silken, cotten sails unveil
To carry Babies far away.
