She was a bride at 14, born in 1834 on the family farm behind Pleasant Ridge Methodist Church in Adair County near the Metcalfe County line. When she was near death in 1922, family historian Margie Coffey recalls, she insisted that someone bring her some water from the spring on her "Homeplace" because she said it was the sweetest water she had ever tasted. - Phil Coffey
