Peggy Houk with stars Lance Burton and Kenny Rogers

2012-12-15 - 712 Russell Road, Columbia, KY - Photo By Linda Waggener.
Peggy Houk of Campbellsville, Ky. got to visit with and collect hugs from two of her favorite stars Thursday evening in Columbia, Lance Burton, with her at left, and Kenny Rogers with her in the photo at right. Oh, alright, so it's not Kenny at right, but he does favor her long-time doctor, friend and host, Phil Aaron, M.D., who brought Peggy and a few other family and friends together for dinner with Burton. Elvis, Rogers, Burton and Aaron are all four at the top of Peggy's list of favorite stars, ones who get samples of her homemade Bourbon Ball candy each year. At least Elvis would receive them if he were alive. She did get to go to one of his concerts before his untimely death but never got to meet him in person. She said she really wanted to go to Memphis when Elvis died, but that was one of the few trips her late husband Don refused her. Both Burton and Aaron received their Christmas candy after the dinner. We're not sure how Kenny Rogers will get his candy this year -- she may be scheduling another trip as we speak. - Linda Waggener
