Greg Corbin presents offer of financial support for Agriculture

2012-09-21 - 1204 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener.
Greg Corbin, right presented the Adair County Agriculture Alliance's solution to their interest in keeping three Agriculture teachers for Adair County High School's agriculture department at the Thursday, September 20, 2012 regular meeting of the Adair County Board of Education. The group has offered to help fund the third teacher, a seemingly simple way to produce a win-win situation. The board listened to the proposal, but Corbin and the farmer supporters were told that State Law dictated that the school site based councils have final say. The council recommended an Instructional Assistant for the Agricultural Department and the board voted 5-0 for that plan. Supporters of Agriculture were one of three advocate groups which packed the conference room to overflowing. Listening, from left are Chairman Floyd Burton (Div 4); Board Attorney Jeff Hoover, and Board Member Joseph Payne (Div 3).
