A beautiful preservation: Though the store, with its post office with the same zip code as Columbia (remember the mail addressed to your Columbia, KY, home as Montpelier, KY 42728) are closed, the preservation of the general store and proprietor's house is museum perfect, and offers, from any direction, one of the most pleasing sights in America. This view, with the Adair County sign on the right and the Russell County sign on the left, in front of the black outbuildings was taken from KY 92. The road ahead here is pretty as it promises, heading west through Pleasant Hill, Cabin Creek, Beautiful Joppa, and joining KY 55 with an unforgettable view of old Zion Baptist Church and School, now restored for adaptive reuse at Gaddie Shamrock Stone Co. - EW
