Birds of Kentucky: Goldfinches starring in A Kiss Before Dining

2011-02-11 - 1535 - Photo By Barbara Armitage.
Waiting for their table to be set These two Goldfinches appear to be kissing in flight. While their 'mom' is usually attentive to the need of all her Wild Pets, she was late this morning filling their Nyjer Sock, and the birds made good use of the time. Everyone is invited to learn more about Goldfinches and other birds at the next - and last scheduled before the Great Backyard Bird Count - Birding 101, with Wendy Butler Burt and Barbara Armitage, this evening at 6:30pmCT, at the Adair County Extension Office, 409 Fairground ST, Columbia, KY. There's no charge and there will be a number of Adair County Garden Club birding items on sale. (270) 250-2730.
