Scenic Cumberland Falls State Resort Park: Artist at work

Artist Peggy Sherry, Somerset, KY, was taking inspiration from the view of the Cumberland River below the patio at Cumberland Falls State Resort Park, while painting from a photograph of the falls itself. She was building her stock of larger work for a future show. She was working in pastels, an art medium which allows more interruptions than oils, and allows more time to enjoy the spectacular fall scenery in the area. She regularly exhibits her work at the Kentucky Artisan Center in Berea and at the Carnegie Community Arts Center in Somerset, KY. At right is the work in progress.
