Scenic Adair Co., KY: Last Chance Store, Chance, KY

2010-04-23 - Photo by R.J. Dooley. 30 Walnut Grove RD, Columbia, KY, in the Village of Chance
It's fast becoming as famous as the historic Adair County Courthouse Clocktower and Begley Chapel as Adair County icons, and it is a favorite of every photographer who sees it, and ColumbiaMagazine.com does not have nigh enough pictures to have reached "critical mess' on the subject. Adair Countian R.J. Dooley, Elizabeth, IN, was in Adair County on April 17, 2010, and snapped this beautiful photo, which gifts a hint of the magnificence of the huge Sassafras tree in the front yard. BJ Fudge, a retired Kentucky State Forester, says that the Sassafras tree, in forestry circles, is noteworthy. We haven't been able to supply an address up to now, but Mary Allender, Adair 911 Coordinator, and Justin Bailey, Assistant 911 Coordinator, have mapped it at 30 Walnut Grove RD, Columbia, KY.
