Pride of Black Lions gathers in Columbia, KY

2010-02-14 - 2339 Campbellsville RD, Columbia, KY - Photo by Black Lion Joe Hare. "Four very happy and full Black Lions of the 2nd/28th Inf, of the Vietnam Era. Dean Beard-Glasgow, KY, Joe Karczynski-Darrien, IL; Don Price-Glasgow, KY: and Ron Moreno-Rineyville, KY, are pictured above with Betty Ollestad, owner of OK Country Cooking here in Columbia, KY. Betty is a very caring and patriotic lady who had just fed this hungry bunch plus the photographer," writes Joe Hare. "Joe Karczynski is visiting me for a few days, as he works his way home from a trip to Florida visiting with several other Veterans. We served with the 28th in 1967 and 1968. Four of us live within a 60 mile circle here in Central Kentucky and we have spent the last couple of days having a great time and telling a lot of big stories. Thanks again to Betty and her fine crew for the great food and friendship." See also, Black Lions at OKCC with Joe Hare in picture.
