Three outstanding teachers to be inducted in Hall of Fame



2010-01-22 - Frankfort, KY - Photo WKU photos. Three outstanding educators will be inducted Tuesday, January 26, 2010, at the State Capitol, 700 Capitol Ave. (at State St.), Frankfort as the third class of the Gov. Louie B. Nunn Kentucky Teacher Hall of Fame. The three chosen by a statewide selection committee are Linda D. Childress of Cub Run, Walter Dick of Cumberland and Frances Steenbergen of Glasgow. The induction ceremony will begin at 1pmET in the Capitol Rotunda. Participants in the ceremony include Western Kentucky University President Gary Ransdell, Gov. Steve Beshear, Education Commissioner Terry Holliday, Education Secretary Joe Meyer, House Speaker Greg Stumbo and Senate President David Williams. At 2pmCT the inductees will be introduced on the House and Senate floors. Tommy Newton, Western Kentucky University
Columbia, KY native Hilda Willis Jenkins, the very last graduate ever of Columbia High School and a graduate of Lindsey Wilson College, was in the second class of inductees into the Gov. Louie B. Nunn Kentucky Teacher Hall of Fame.
