Daytrip: Creelsboro Arch, great fun for well-watched boys

2009-09-13 - Creelsboro, Russell Co., KY - Photo by Pen.
Creelsboro Arch, the Rockhouse, is a great place for boys. Graham, the explorer and Indiana Jones of the family, thoroughly loved the place and wants to come back often. In the upper left photo, he had made it to the top of the arch with his father. From the photo, second from left, bottom, it's a mystery how he got on top of the standing stone, but he did it. The other guys in the photo are his brother, Evan, and his granddad. The Creelsboro Arch is a fun place for boys, but very intense supervision is required. Besides the warnings about snakes, there's the hazards of falls and the deep, cold Cumberland River waters here, not to mention poison ivy. Insect repellent is a must, too.
