Tim Allen: Embraced by a small town for 28 years

2009-06-28 - Cranmer Dining Center, 430 Helen Flatt DR, Columbia, KY - Photo By Shamarie.
EMBRACED BY A SMALL TOWN FOR 28 YEARS: "When Mr. Allen spoke it was not what one might expect," writes Shamarie Claiborne. "He toasted those he said he had been blessed to have around him. Mella Dee, his children, his Mother, Doug Neal, Rob Depp, Doris Depp, 'Daddy' Bill Walker. He spoke of them and what they had done for him. He talked about how lucky he was to have their input and help through the years. At different times while he spoke I was moved to tears. The man of the hour was the most humble human I had ever seen. Not the 'Intimidator, Superman, or Darth Vader' we had laughed about all night but a man humbled by his luck to have a supportive family - which included students, band boosters, and a small town that embraced him for 28 years.
