CONGRESSMAN RON LEWIS, KY, and CAMPBELLSVILLE UNIVERSITY PRESIDENT MICHAEL V. CARTER signed the Frances Gaddie Clinkscales Endowed Scholarship at a ceremony July 28, 2008, in the Chowning Executive Dining Room on Campbellsville University's campus. Present at the signing were, from left,the Rev. Daniel Corrie Shull, Greater Campbellsville United, and pastor of First Baptist Church; Dr. James Jones, Church Relations Council Outreach Special Assistant at Campbellsville University; the Rev. John Chowning, Vice President for Church and External Relations and Executive Assistant to the President, Chair of Greater Campbellsville United and Pastor of Saloma Baptist Church; Benji Kelly, Vice President for Development; Dr. Robert S. Clark, Secretary of GCU; Yevette Haskins, GCU Co-chair; Wanda Washington, GCU Coordinator; Lavada Gaddie, Clinkscales' niece; LaQuita Goodin, granddaughter of Clinkscales, and her husband, Chris; CU School of Nursing Dean Jo Ann Wever; Samuel Wickliffe, President of Taylor County Civic League; the Rev. Michael Caldwell, GCU and pastor of Pleasant Union Baptist Church; Dr. Frank Cheatham, Vice president for academics at CU; the Rev. Karl Lusk, GCU and Pastor of St. Thomas Church; and the Rev. Al Hardy, Dean of Academic Support at CU and Pastor of Good Hope Baptist Church.
