Jim Fugitte with Kentucky built, revolutionary wind turbine

2007-11-28 - Cranmer Dining Center - Photo By Duane Bonifer.
WIND ENERGY CEO SPEAKS AT LINDSEY WILSON COLLEGE: Wind Energy Corp. CEO Jim Fugitte holds "Little WEC," a SMALL SCALE prototype of the revolutionary wind turbine his company is developing. The actual wind-harvesting machine is six meters tall, and it weighs about 600 pounds, much smaller and affordable than conventional propeller-based wind machines located in Western U.S. states. Because of its relatively small size, the machine can be placed on top of business buildings and sports stadiums and arenas to help reduce energy costs. Fugitte spoke about his company to more than 70 Lindsey Wilson College math and science students, professors and guests on Tuesday night in the Roberta D. Cranmer Dining & Conference Center. Wind Energy Corp., which has offices in Morgantown and Elizabethtown, is expected to bring almost 300 jobs to its Butler County, KY, plant by the end of 2012. The subsidy-free wind-harvesting machines that Wind Energy Corp. will produce will change the world of business, developing countries and the environment, Fugitte said. For July 13, 2007, story about Jim Fugitte plant in Morgantown, Click here
