Well-deserved recognition in Seattle for 5 Vietnam Veterans

With this city street traffic stopped, the 12-member Seattle Police Department Motorcycle Drill Team completed their routine, then parked, dismounted their bikes, came to attention, and saluted the five Vietnam Veterans, for whom they had just performed, for their service to Our Country. Columbia's own Joe Hare was among the honored Vietnam soldiers. "It was a very emotional event for we veterans," Sgt. Hare said. "It caught us completely by surprise. But," he said, "we came to attention and returned a 'Black Lion Salute' for their service. This was well-deserved as the precision motorcycle team is known as 'Blue Angels on Wheels.' It was an occasion none of us will ever forget. I know I won't."
