Shortcut on KY 61 now open: A little closer to Atlanta

2006-06-05 - KY 61 at the foot of the Pike - Photo by CM staff. COLUMBIA, KY, IS JUST A HAIR CLOSER TO ATLANTA and other points south with traffic being route onto a very short lenghth of the new KY 61, although this photo is taken looking the other direction. For the past week, traffic has been detoured onto the new segment of KY 61 just south of the Clarence Keltner residence, through the cut made on property previously part of the Margaret and Dr. Ben Arnold farm (Old Mabel and Ella Conover place.) The barrels block access to the old roadway.
